Stags Announce Athletics Events for Alumni & Family Weekend

2019 AFW Registration Is Open Now

Fairfield University Athletics has announced its full slate of events for 2019 Alumni & Family Weekend, which will be held from Oct. 18 to 20. All athletics events are either free or included in the Alumni & Family Weekend registration. Events are open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Friday, Oct. 18:
 
Field Hockey vs. Rider
University Field, 4 p.m.
The nationally ranked Stags will host Rider in a pivotal Northeast Conference clash on University Field.
 

Saturday, Oct. 19:
 
Friends of Cross Country Alumni Race and Breakfast
Faber Hall, 9 a.m.
Join Fairfield Cross Country for an alumni race, to be followed by breakfast.

Friends of Women's Lacrosse Alumnae Game and Ring Ceremony
Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium, 10 – 11 a.m.
Fairfield Conference Center, 11:15 a.m.
Join the Stags for their annual alumnae game at Rafferty Stadium, to be followed by brunch and a Ring Ceremony for the 2019 MAAC Champions.

Friends of Fairfield Rugby Homecoming RugbyFest
Grauert Field, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
RugbyFest will kick off with the Fairfield Women Ruggers & Alumnae Game, followed by the Red Rugger Alumni Game at noon featuring President Mark R. Nemec, PhD. Complimentary food and beverage service available.

Women's Basketball Open Practice
Walsh Athletic Center (Rafferty Gymnasium), 12 – 2 p.m.
Get an inside look at Fairfield women's basketball, and have an opportunity to meet the coaches and student-athletes.
 
Volleyball vs. Niagara
George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall, 1 p.m.
The Stags will host Niagara in MAAC action. The 1999 MAAC Championship team will be honored during intermission.
 
Fairfield Stags Pep Rally
Rafferty Stadium Lot, 3 p.m. (rain location: RecPlex)
Join the Stags' varsity athletics teams, coaches, and administrators as we celebrate the 2019-20 athletics season. The Pep Rally will feature remarks from our men's and women's basketball coaches, as well as performances by the Fairfield pep band, and cheer and dance teams.
 
Mic'd Up with Men's Basketball Head Coach Jay Young
George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall, 4 – 5 p.m.
Get a sneak preview of the 2019-20 Fairfield Stags and hear from Coach Young throughout the open practice session.
 
Men's Soccer vs. Monmouth
Lessing Field, 7 p.m.
The Stags will host Monmouth in MAAC action on Lessing Field.
  • Tickets can be added to Alumni & Family Weekend registration packets at no additional cost. Fans who have not registered for AFW can purchase game tickets at the gate, or online at FairfieldStags.com/TIX.
 
Sunday, Oct. 20
 
Volleyball vs. Canisius
George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall, 1 p.m.
The Stags will host Canisius in a pivotal MAAC match at Alumni Hall.
