Record Turnout at This Year's Annual Career and Internship Fair

Fairfield University’s Career Center hosted its largest ever Fall Career and Internship Fair with 856 students and 125 companies in attendance.

It's not surprising that Fairfield University has been cited by College Factual and US News & World Report, among others, as having a variety of strong student outcomes, when you see the excitement at the University's annual Career & Internship Fair. The fair is a valuable opportunity for students to network with employers across a variety of industries.

“I always enjoy going to the Career Fair because of the opportunity to practice speaking to recruiters and making connections,” said psychology major Tess Griffin ’20. “The Career Fair is open to every major, not just business. As a psychology major, I was able to find multiple companies that interested me. Employers are generally looking for the right person for the position, regardless of major, so it is important to just be yourself!”

Some of the organizations in attendance included Boys and Girls Village, Daversa Partners, Deloitte, Epsilon, Isos, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, Peace Corps, Prosek Partners, PwC, RightClick, Sabra Dipping Company, Spectrum, Teach For America, The Kennedy Center, Inc., Vineyard Vines, and more.

Every year, many alumni and companies return to campus for the Career Fair, which shows the caliber of Fairfield students. Kerry Hands, LIA, CEBS, area senior vice president of Gallagher Benefit Services stated, ““We had a great time at the Fairfield Career Fair and were impressed with the students that came through. Not only was the event very well organized but it was well attended as well. The students seemed to be enjoying themselves, were well prepared with their resumes and asked good questions.”

Don’t forget about the Job Shadow Program:

It’s never too early to start thinking about Fairfield’s Job Shadow program. During winter break, the Career Center pairs students with alumni professionals for a day or half-day of rewarding career exploration. Through this opportunity, alumni can have a powerful influence on mentoring a Fairfield junior or senior. Learn more or sign-up at fairfield.edu/jobshadow .
