Fairfield Men’s Basketball is back at Webster Bank Arena this Saturday, Nov. 9 to host UMass in their second game of the 2019-20 campaign. Tip-off from Bridgeport between the Stags and Minutemen is slated for 1 p.m.

Admission is free for Fairfield University students to all regular season home games in all sports. In addition, a free student shuttle will run between Alumni Hall and Webster Bank Arena from noon though the end of the game.

The Stags opened the season and the Jay Young era of Fairfield men's basketball this past Tuesday at Webster Bank Arena against perennial Patriot League contender Bucknell. The Stags would rally back from a 15-point deficit with 4:26 remaining against the Bison, cutting the margin to just two points in the final minute of regulation, but the visitors sank their free throws down the stretch to salt away a 68–64 decision.

Jesus Cruz ’21 led the way for Fairfield with 24 points, followed by 17 points from Landon Taliaferro ’20 and a dozen for Taj Benning ’21. Graduate student Vincent Eze impressed in his Stags debut with six points and six rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench.

Following Saturday’s meeting with UMass, the Stags begin a six-game road swing that includes trips to Holy Cross, Loyola Maryland, the University of Maryland and three games at the ESPN Orlando Invitational over Thanksgiving weekend. Fairfield’s next home outing will be held on campus on George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall against William & Mary on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.
