On Thursday, November 7, Fairfield Dolan will host the second annual Business Analytics Showcase. The event will be an afternoon for the Fairfield community to hear from – and network with – experts in the field while learning more about analytics trends. Topics covered will include forecasting, data mining, Python, and database analytics. The event is co-sponsored by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
During the event, Fairfield Dolan business analytics students will present their forecasting, data mining, and database analytics projects, and faculty members will share their research in the field. Attendees will also enjoy learning from local professionals who will discuss how their companies use business analytics.
Philip Maymin, PhD, associate professor and director of the MSBA program will present on sports analytics. He said, “Analytics teaches you how to tack and jibe to discover actionable new insights ahead of the competition, how to navigate strategically and change course tactically, and how to use whatever you have to get wherever you want to go. Business analytics will steer our next generation of captains of industry.”
