Women’s Lacrosse Plays for 2019 MAAC Championship at Rafferty Stadium, Saturday, May 4

Fairfield to host Siena on campus tomorrow at noon.

Fairfield women’s lacrosse will play on campus for the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship this Saturday, May 4. The game is at noon on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. The Stags, who are eying back-to-back MAAC titles for the first time in program history, will challenge Siena for the crown and the league’s automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Championship.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are on sale now. Admission is free for all Fairfield students, faculty and staff (with a StagCard) courtesy of Fairfield Athletics. The action will also be broadcast live by the Stags Sports Network and the MAAC on ESPN+ with J.J. Duke and Allison Gaskins on the call.

The Stags advanced to their 10th MAAC Championship Game with an 18-14 win over Marist on Thursday at Rafferty Stadium. All-MAAC First Team selection and Fairfield Female Athlete of the Year Brooke Gallagher led the offense with seven goals and an assist, while senior co-captains Megan Beach and Erin Mammele anchored the defense.

Siena defeated Monmouth, 16-15, in Thursday’s second semifinal to reach the MAAC Championship Game for the first time since 2005. Fairfield topped the Saints, 12-11, during the regular season on April 13 in Loudonville, N.Y.
