Men’s Lacrosse to Host Delaware, Baseball Welcomes Marist to Highlight a Full Slate for the Stags

League play in both the Colonial Athletic Association and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will begin on campus this Saturday, March 30, to highlight a busy weekend slate for Fairfield Athletics. Fairfield men’s lacrosse will host Delaware in its CAA opener at Rafferty Stadium, while Fairfield baseball challenges Marist on Alumni Diamond for a three-game MAAC series.

Head Coach Andy Copelan leads Fairfield lacrosse into its fifth season of CAA action with a 5-4 overall record. Saturday’s meeting with Delaware is the Stags’ annual “Herd for a Cure” game. Donations will be collected and t-shirts and raffle tickets will be on sale with all proceeds to benefit the Norma Pfriem Breast Center.

Opening faceoff from Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium is slated for 1 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at FairfieldStags.com/TIX.

Fairfield baseball brings a four-game winning streak into the first home MAAC series of the 2019 campaign. The Stags won a three-game road set at Iona this past weekend, starting conference play at 2-1, and most recently took a pair of midweek games over visiting Central Connecticut State and St. John’s. Head Coach Bill Currier’s club will host Marist for a noon doubleheader on Saturday followed by the series finale at noon on Sunday.

Off-campus action this weekend includes women’s lacrosse traveling to Niagara to continue its MAAC slate and softball hitting the road for a pair on conference doubleheaders at Marist and Siena. In non-conference competition, men’s and women’s rowing will be on the water for the first time this spring against La Salle and Lehigh in Philadelphia.
