The Australian physical performance troupe Gravity & Other Myths will perform at the Fairfield University RecPlex at 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 31.
Hailing from the circus capitol of the world, Australia's Gravity & Other Myths will deliver high-flying, superhuman acrobatics and incredible feats of strength in a riveting circus show titled A Simple Space. Tickets are now available for this unique and immersive performance taking place on Thursday, January 31 at 8 p.m. in Fairfield University’s RecPlex.
Featuring seven acrobats supported by driving live percussion, Gravity & Other Myths’ contemporary circus is anything but traditional. This performance of A Simple Space promises to be simultaneously humorous, frantic, delicate, and presented so intimately that you will feel the heat, hear every breath, and be immersed in every moment.
A recent review of A Simple Space in the Adelaide, Australia newspaper The Advertiser stated, “The ensemble not only wowed young and old with intense, jaw-dropping acts that had the audience on the edge of their seats — but also had them in fits of laughter with streaks of comedic play and competitiveness.”
Since its inception in 2009, the Gravity & Other Myths troupe has become internationally renowned for its physical performances that push the boundaries of contemporary circus. Utilizing an honest approach, their shows are created around a human connection and acrobatic virtuosity. In 2015 they were honored with the Australian Dance Award for Best Physical Theatre and Australia’s Green Room Award for Outstanding Contemporary Circus.
Gravity & Other Myths' A Simple Space is sponsored by Abbey Tent & Party Rentals and Morris Media. Tickets are available now and will also be sold at the RecPlex door while supplies last, at $40 for the general public, $30 for Quick Members, and $5 for Fairfield University students (one per I.D.).
