Merrill Lynch, Subway, PwC, Epsilon, and More to Participate in Mock Interview Day

At this year's Mock Interview Day, companies will help students hone their abilities and prepare to enter the workforce.

On Wednesday, February 6 in the Kelley Center, 25 local employers will participate in this year’s Mock Interview Day -- giving students from all majors a chance to practice their interview skills and gain real time feedback from professionals.

Mock Interview Day, offered by the Career Center, is an opportunity for students to sit face-to-face with a professional in their chosen field and conduct an interview. Interviews will be timed and at the conclusion, students will receive real-time feedback on their performance. The professionals will also offer pointers to develop the students' interview skills and confidence.

“Interviewing takes lots of practice, so we encourage students from all classes and majors to participate in Mock Interview Day,” stated Cathleen Borgman, CCSP, GCDF, director, Career Center. “The students get immediate feedback from recruiters who might interview them for real jobs in a few weeks or even years.”

Students may sign up for these interviews with the company of their choice through their Stags4Hire accounts. In order to apply for a mock interview, students must have a resume uploaded in Stags4Hire. Students will be allowed to apply for one mock interview. Participating companies include: Aisling Executive Coaching Ltd., Andersen Tax, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Blumshapiro, Deloitte, EDR, Enterprise Holdings, Epsilon, Ernst & Young, Got2Practice Inc, Health Professions Program, Ipsos, Katie Coleman Consulting, KPMG, Merrill Lynch, Octagon, PosiGen, PwC, Reed Exhibitions, RSM US LLP, Subway, Synchrony, The Insitute for Professional Practices, USA Business Strong Inc., and Vayner Media.

Borgman added, “Not only does this event offer students a chance to experience the feel of an interview, it helps them better understand what recruiters look for and how they can stand out. Students comment that it has been eye opening for them and helped to build their confidence.”
