Fairfield women's basketball guard Kaety L’Amoreaux ‘27 has been named a semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year, presented by Her Hoop Stats.
L'Amoreaux, the MAAC's leading scorer, is one of 10 mid-major players in the nation selected to the list.
In addition to leading the MAAC in scoring at 18.6 points per game, L’Amoreaux tops the conference in field goal percentage (.479), free throw percentage (.895), and assists per game (4.5). She also ranks third in steals per game (2.29) and fifth in three-point percentage (.377).
Her career year has been recognized within the conference and around the college basketball landscape, meriting six MAAC Player of the Week awards along with three All-Met Player of the Week selections and one spot among the USBWA National Players of the Week.
Led by fourth-year Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis, the Fairfield Women’s Basketball program enters the final game of the regular season with a record 24-4 overall and tied for first in the MAAC at 18-1. The Stags host crosstown foe Sacred Heart this Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at Leo D. Mahoney Arena to close out the conference slate.
