We are always free and open to the public! No registration or tickets necessary. We do ask that you register on Eventbrite for our programs, as there are capacity limits to be considered.

We suggest starting with the Bellarmine Hall Galleries, which includes our permanent collection as well as special exhibitions. Guests usually stay about 90 minutes to two hours, between the two spaces.

At the Bellarmine Hall Galleries, there is a single, all-gender bathroom near the parking lot entrance.

In the Walsh Gallery, there are public restrooms for men and women on the opposite side of the Quick Center for the Arts Lobby.

Yes – visitors are invited to use the Fairfield Guest Wi-Fi network.

In the Bellarmine Hall Galleries, there is a coatroom in the hallway before the restroom. In the Walsh Gallery, coatracks are available in the Quick Center for the Arts Lobby.

Yes, you may take photographs for personal use only, as long as you don’t use flash.

Visitors are not permitted to touch any art objects in the museum and must remain a reasonable distance from all works on view.

Service animals are welcome to accompany visitors in the galleries, pursuant to ADA regulations.

Emotional support animals and other pets are not permitted.

You are welcome to take notes or sketch with pencil in the galleries; the use of pens or other art supplies is not permitted.

Changing tables are available in the restrooms in both the Bellarmine Hall Galleries.

Yes, you are welcome to bring a stroller.

Yes, you are welcome to feed your baby in the Museum.

The nearest lactation rooms are: Bellarmine Hall (Room 312A), Egan School of Nursing (Room 129), Dolan School of Business (Room 302B), and Canisius (Room 300D).

If you are in need of a private space to nurse, please ask a staff member and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Yes. There is no charge for a self-guided group visit, but we do ask that you give us a heads-up in advance at museum@fairfield.edu.

Yes, the Museum offers a K-12 field trip program throughout the year while our special exhibitions are open. The field trips and art supplies are offered free of charge to all K-12 groups.

For Title I schools, the Museum is also able to support bus transportation and lunch costs. For more information, please contact museum@fairfield.edu.

Tours by the Curator of Education & Academic Engagement are available.

The cost is $150 for groups of up to 20. To reserve a guided tour, please contact museum@fairfield.edu.

The Fairfield University Art Museum cannot grant reproduction rights to works in the Museum’s collection that are protected by copyright. Permission must be obtained from the relevant rights holders directly.

If an image is listed as “No known copyright restrictions,” the Museum has determined, to the best of their abilities, that use of these images does not require additional permissions from rights holders. It is up to the discretion of the user to confirm the copyright status of any work that they would like to use or reproduce.

The Museum does not review unsolicited proposals.

If you are interested in donating a museum-quality artwork, please send images and information about the artwork to museum@fairfield.edu.

The Museum does not purchase artworks.

The Museum is not able to assist with appraisals or conservation.

It would be extremely helpful if you include the accession number of the object in your email.

Accession numbers are unique numbers assigned to each object in the Museum’s collection. At FUAM, the accession number begins with the year that work was formally added, or accessioned, into our collection.

The Museum currently has over 4,000 artworks in its permanent collection, but due to space constraints, we currently only display about 150 in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries and around campus.

If you are a Fairfield University undergraduate student, please contact museum@fairfield.edu about Federal Work Study (FWS) and internship opportunities.

No, the Museum is not available for rentals for private events or photo shoots.

The Museum is funded in part by Fairfield University, which pays most of the staff salaries and provides a small budget.

The majority of the Museum’s annual funding comes from its endowment, foundation gifts, and donations from corporate and private funders.
