Fairfield University students make the grade - Dean's List announced

Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx, S.J., president of Fairfield University announced that over 1100 students were named to the university's Dean's List for the 2010 fall semester. The scholastic honor recognizes students who have achieved a 3.50 or higher grade-point average.

In order to be placed on the Dean's List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better.

"We are very proud of these Fairfield students who have been honored for their commitment to academic excellence in the Jesuit tradition. Making the Dean's list is a great achievement that requires not only native intelligence but discipline, hard work and passionate engagement," said Rev. Paul Fitzgerald, S.J., senior vice-president for academic affairs at Fairfield.

"It should be noted that many of these students are also very involved in service, athletics and activities that greatly contribute to campus climate. Congratulations to these students, and to faculty and staff who have inspired and supported them in their efforts," he said.
