We met freshman year and were friends - always ending up in the same dorm year after year. Well, Junior year when my group of friends and his decided to be neighbors in Dolan Hall, the rest was history. After graduation, Joe completed his Master's at Fairfield U and then started working at PwC with his CPA and I was working at Yale New Haven Hospital as a transplant nurse. We got engaged in 2018 and planned a big wedding (with many fellow Stags) for May 2020. We even asked our best friend Margaret DeMoura (class of 2014) to officiate. It was only fitting because she set us up.

As the months got closer to the date we knew we wouldn’t have our dream wedding we had planned due to the pandemic. The New Hampshire barn wedding turned into a downsized event, then a small ceremony with close family and friends in CT, to my mom not even being able to safely travel from Florida to be there at all. To keep everyone safe, we made the tough decision to get married just the two of us with Maggie. My boss from Yale came to help make the 200 person virtual ceremony run flawlessly and her husband photographed for us. Our brand new puppy Olive was our flower girl and we even had a Zoom cocktail hour! My mom gifted us a stay at the Spicer Mansion in Mystic, CT for the night where we were able to have the ceremony in a picturesque outdoor setting while following COVID protocol. Although it wasn’t the day we planned, it was beautiful.

We cannot wait to celebrate with our friends and family when it is safe. Thank you Fairfield for not only giving me the skills to be the nurse I am today, especially after being one that was floated to work with COVID patients, but also for finding my “StagMate” and some forever friends that will always be there for us.
