On Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 9 a.m. Fairfield University’s Office of Graduate and Part-Time Admission will host a virtual information session for individuals interested in pursuing a doctorate, master’s degree, or accelerated second degree bachelor’s in nursing. The online event will be conducted via Zoom and will address the many facets of the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies' highly ranked and nationally accredited programs.

Prospective students attending the online session will have the opportunity to virtually experience Fairfield Egan’s state-of-the-art simulation labs and have their enrollment questions answered by a team of program directors and representatives from Admission. Breakout information sessions will also be available for a wide range of Fairfield Egan programs, including DNP programs in Nurse Anesthesia and Nurse Midwifery, MSN programs in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Leadership, and the University’s 15-month Accelerated Second Degree Bachelor’s in Nursing program.

Students who are interested in pursuing a nursing career but do not want to earn another bachelor’s degree can also learn about Fairfield Egan’s new Accelerated Master’s Entry to Practice Nursing program. The first of its kind in Connecticut, this program provides a unique opportunity for those with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing in an accelerated format.

Registration for the virtual information session is required in advance and available online at www.fairfield.edu/info.

“The pandemic has caused all of us to evaluate what is necessary for our healthcare system to handle an evolving global health crisis,” said Melanie Rogers, director of Graduate Admission. “Fairfield Egan's graduate programs equip students with the clinical experience, training, and knowledge to handle this very challenge, and many of our alumni are currently serving on the front lines and at the forefront this movement.”

Fairfield Egan is ranked among the best in the country, and is one of only 16 programs nationwide to be certified as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence. For a full list of available programs, visit fairfield.edu/grad.
