Acting administrator and general counsel of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Chris Pilkerton '95 Will Speak on “Entrepreneurship in the Modern Economy: Leveraging Innovation and Workforce Development.”
On Tuesday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Fairfield Dolan will welcome Chris Pilkerton ’95, acting administrator and general counsel of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), as the first Dean’s Executive Forum guest of the academic year. The topic of conversation will be “Entrepreneurship in the Modern Economy: Leveraging Innovation and Workforce Development.” Dean Zhan Li, DBA, and Chris Huntley, PhD, associate professor and program director of Fairfield StartUp, will lead an audience Q&A.

Chris Pilkerton ’95
As an advocate for America’s small businesses, Pilkerton works to connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to start, grow, and expand their businesses. In his role, he is the voice for 30 million small businesses across the country. Prior to his time with the SBA, Pilkerton was a compliance director at JP Morgan Chase. During his career he has also served as assistant district attorney in the money laundering and tax crimes unit of the Manhattan District Attorney Office, and as senior counsel, enforcement, for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Pilkerton has also served on the board of directors of NASDAQ, and was the associate director of the law and public policy program at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
This Dean’s Executive Forum will take place in the Dolan School of Business Event Hall at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1, and will explore Pilkerton’s experience as a student at Fairfield and how his academic career prepared him for his expansive professional career today. SBA resources, entrepreneurship and strengthening local and national economies, small business optimism, and U.S. and global trade and manufacturing trends will also be discussed.
