The Stags' junior captain was also an All-MAAC First Team selection this fall.
Fairfield women's soccer captain Gabby Diodati ’21 has been selected to the Scholar All-East Second Team by the United Soccer Coaches (USC). She is the program's first All-Region Scholar since 2008, adding another distinction to a 2019 campaign that also saw Diodati tabbed for the USC All-Region Third Team and the All-MAAC First Team.
Diodati led the Stags in every facet of the game at right back, not only helping to preserve eight shutouts for Fairfield on the defensive side of the pitch, but also leading the team in points. Diodati tallied five goals and shared the MAAC lead with eight assists as she helped propel the Stags to the MAAC Championship match. The highlight of her season came in the MAAC Championship semifinals against in-state rival Quinnipiac, in which she netted the lone goal in a 1-0 triumph at Lessing Field.
In the classroom, Diodati merited her Scholar All-East recognition by maintaining a 3.57 GPA as a psychology major. She is a consistent member of the Fairfield University Dean’s List and the MAAC All-Academic Team.
