Q+A
Why did you choose to attend Fairfield University?
I chose to attend Fairfield University because I was looking for a small school that was close—but not too close—to my family in New Jersey. I immediately loved the feeling of being on campus and was excited about the opportunity to live on Fairfield Beach my senior year.
While those factors were important, what mattered most was the connection I felt with the softball program. I knew playing Division I softball would be a major commitment, so I wanted to be sure I would truly enjoy being part of the team. From the start, I felt that connection with my teammates and Coach B. She was an incredible coach who guided me through a very formative time in my life, and I am truly grateful for that experience.
How are you involved with the University now?
My husband and I are both Fairfield alumni, and we now live in town. We enjoy attending many University events, especially athletic games in the new arena.
I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with current softball players who are interested in pursuing careers in education, which has been especially meaningful to me. In addition, I am a member of the Friends of Softball program and a proud Monarch Member.
What inspires you to stay involved with the University?
I am incredibly grateful for my time at Fairfield, especially as a student-athlete. Those four years helped shape who I am today, both personally and professionally.
Because of that, I feel a strong desire to give back and stay connected. I’m inspired by the opportunity to support current students and student-athletes as they go through their own formative experiences.
How do you hope your support will impact the future of Fairfield University?
I hope my support helps provide current and future students with the same meaningful experiences that I was fortunate to have. Whether through athletics, academics, or campus life, I want students to feel supported, challenged, and inspired during their time at Fairfield.
If I can play even a small role in helping student-athletes grow, build strong relationships, and prepare for life beyond college, that would be incredibly rewarding.
Any advice for fellow Fairfield Athletics alumni and friends about how to stay involved?
Stay connected in whatever way feels meaningful to you. Attend games, come back to campus for events, or find opportunities to mentor current students. Even small efforts can make a big impact.
For me, connecting with student-athletes who share similar career interests has been especially rewarding. Staying involved not only supports the University, but it also keeps you connected to a community that has given so much to you.
About
I am currently in my 18th year in education, where I teach middle school math and serve as a Dean of Student Life. I live in Fairfield with my husband and our two children, who are both very involved in sports and the arts in town.
Since graduating, I’ve picked up a few new hobbies, including martial arts and line dancing—but softball will always have a special place in my heart.
