Recognizing the general public's growing need for practical AI guidance, Anca Micu, PhD, senior associate dean and professor of marketing in the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, recently published AI Made Simple: Copy and Paste Guides for Everyday Tasks.

Whether you're planning an international trip or using AI on the job, Dr. Micu’s new book shows that, with the right prompts, AI can be a powerful and approachable everyday tool. The inspiration for the book came from her work developing practical AI training materials for business school staff, as well as her curiosity about using AI for personal tasks such as planning a family vacation. She hopes that the prompts featured in AI Made Simple will become " essential tools for saving time, reducing stress, and sparking creativity.”

Last fall, Dr. Micu presented at the annual Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation conference on how to use AI for accreditation reporting. With more than 650 attendees registered, her presentation reinforced the vested interest in clear, practical AI guidance in higher education and beyond.

Building on her work to explore how AI can serve higher education, Dr. Micu has embraced a broader goal: to make AI feel "friendly, useful, and accessible” beyond the classroom setting. "You don’t need any technical background," she said, "the book shows you step by step how to use AI platforms with ready-to-use prompts that make everyday tasks easier.”

For those not sure where to start, Dr. Micu encourages them to view AI as a resource. “Prompts are like recipes," she said. "Once you have the right ingredients and steps, you can make something great quickly, without needing to reinvent the wheel.”

Dr. Micu’s book can be purchased on Amazon. For more information on AI experts at Fairfield University visit Fairfield.edu/ai.
