Transportation and Parking

The Campus Shuttle provides transportation throughout the Fairfield University campus.

Hours of Service

• Monday - Thursday | 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
• Friday | 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Saturday - Sunday | 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Campus Shuttle generally runs every 30 minutes.

Weekday schedule exception: Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Campus Shuttle runs hourly, departing the Barone Campus Center at 30 minutes past each hour.

The 1720 Post Road Shuttle operates Monday through Friday. The shuttle departs from the Barone Campus Center for 1720 Post Road at:

• 10:45 a.m.
• 11:45 a.m.
• 12:45 p.m.
• 1:45 p.m.

Hours of Service

• Monday - Friday | 7 a.m. - 9:50 p.m.
• Saturday - Sunday | 12 p.m. - 9:50 p.m.

The Town Shuttle departs from the Barone Campus Center approximately once every hour.

The final shuttle departs at 9:50 p.m. and stops at the Dolan School of Business before providing on-demand drop-offs at the following locations:

• Fairfield Train Station overpass
• Grasmere Avenue and Post Road
• Metro Train Station, Alto parking garage side

The 5 p.m. trip provides drop-off service only at the Bridgeport Train Station and Barone Campus Center.

The Office of Conference & Event Management assists in coordinating transportation for a variety of university sponsored trips. A fleet of University vans and sedans are available for use by the Fairfield University community, as well as several bus options.

GO Airport Shuttle Connecticut provides a shared-ride Door-to-Door service and private limousine service between John F. Kennedy International (JFK) and La Guardia Airport (LGA) and campuses in Connecticut.

• All students, and employees must register online after August 10.
• Parking Permits are non-transferable.
• Offenders that receive THREE or more violations will be subject to additional fees and can be booted or towed.
• First-year and sophomore resident students are not authorized to have vehicles on campus (including weekends). These vehicles will be ticketed, booted, or towed and subject to additional fines. Students who violate this policy will lose future parking privileges.
• Students are not permitted to register a vehicle belonging to another student.
• Students requesting an exception to the parking policy should apply at fairfield.edu/parking-exception.
• Students who have initiated the process of requesting an exception to the campus parking policy are not permitted to bring vehicles on campus prior to approval.
• Juniors and seniors who register a vehicle owned by an underclassman, will lose their own parking privileges.
• Through an agreement with the Town of Fairfield, students are not permitted to park their vehicles on streets surrounding the University.
• Guests of residents must register with the Parking Office or Department of Public Safety 24/7.
• Temporary permits for guests of the University are generally $10 per day.
• All appeal decisions are final. Tickets can not be re-appealed.
• Questions about parking permits and regulations may be addressed to parking@fairfield.edu. All appeals are done through the appeal process, outlined in the next accordion.
• The cost of a replacement permit is 50% of the price of a full-year permit.
• Ticket payments can be paid by cash or debit/credit card at the Parking Office or Bursar's Office.
• Overnight parking is not permitted for Green Permit holders unless prior approval has been granted.

When registering for a parking permit, you will need to provide the follow:

Temporary for Unregistered Students

Faculty, staff, and students must come to the Parking Office for temporary permits only. Long and short term passes are $10 per day for students who do not have a registered vehicle.

Leased Vehicle

When registering a leased vehicle please attach the State Vehicle Registration Document and a copy of the insurance card.

The Department of Public Safety reminds all those driving on campus that the speed limit is 20 mph and to use extreme caution while driving on campus.

Park Legally

• Once a student is placed on the boot/tow list, all vehicles they bring to campus are automatically subject to booting or towing. This applies to any vehicle the student registers, as well as any guest vehicles associated with them.
• Registered vehicle owner's that accumulate THREE or more tickets during an academic year , may be towed from campus or immobilized with a wheel boot.
• After THREE violations, a referral will be sent to the Dean of Students Office.
• All towing expenses and fees are the responsibility of the registered owner.
• Once vehicle owner's receive THREE or more violations, they will be placed on a Chronic Violator List. Once placed on the list, the offender's vehicle(s) will be towed or immobilized for any future violations for the entire academic year. Paying outstanding fines does not remove offender's from the Chronic Violator List.
• Parking on neighboring streets is prohibited.
• Parking permits are non-transferable.
• Parking permits are color coded to match lots.
• No overnight parking in lots: O-3 and the Parking Garage K-1.

Payments and Appeals

• Parking violation fees are payable at the Bursar's office located in McAuliffe Hall - checks payable to Fairfield University
• Traffic appeal forms are available outside the Parking Office and must be received within 10 days of the ticket being issued. Failure to meet this requirement, will result in forfeiture of appeals privilege.
• Boot removal fees must be paid in person to the Parking Office or Bursar's Office by cash or debit/credit. If a boot is paid at the Bursar's Office, proof of payment is needed.
• All ticket appeal decisions are final - tickets may not be re-appealed.

Orange – F1 and F2

Orange Lots will now include A2, A3, A4, B1, G, H1, H2, I1, N1, N2, and N3.

Green - Lots B1, B2, B3, E1, H1, H2, K1, and K2A

Additional parking from 4 p.m. through 12 a.m. (Midnight) includes all blue lots except for lots A1 and G2.

Blue Zone Areas

Faculty and staff are requested to park in blue zone areas when possible. However, the University reserves the right to restrict lots when necessary. Students of faculty and staff may not display BLUE parking permits on their vehicles.

C-1, C-2, C-6, and K-1

All visitors must obtain a visitor parking pass from the Parking Office, located in the basement of Loyola Hall next to the Department of Public Safety (DPS). If any questions arise, please call 203-254-4156 or email parking@fairfield.edu.

Dark Blue - Lot M1 | Purple - Lot M2 or G2

Fairfield Prep students are only authorized to park in Lots M1, M2, and G2. This applies at all times, including school hours, weekends, holidays, university breaks, and during both athletic and non-athletic events.

F-1, K-3, K-1

Vehicles must be plugged in and charging when parked in an EV spot. When the vehicle is fully charged, you are responsible for moving your vehicle to a regular parking spot.
