Fairfield University’s Arts & Minds and Quick Center Present a Festive December Lineup

Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts continues its magnificent 35th season with a December schedule of theatre, music, and inspiring speakers.

In addition to events presented by the Quick Center, the University is proud to present through the Center for Arts & Minds a number of additional talks and productions sponsored by departments and programs across campus.

Highlights Include

Fairfield University Glee Club’s Feast of Carols

Fairfield University’s Glee Club presents their annual Christmas concert, A Feast of Carols on Fri., Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. Featuring over 100 voices from the Glee Club, Chamber Singers, Bensonians, and Sweet Harmony, this beloved annual concert showcases American holiday classics and exciting new works. The program includes an audience carol singalong and the cherished tradition of “Night of Silence” with alumni.

National Theatre Live presents The Fifth Step, with Jack Lowden and Martin Freeman

National Theatre Live presents The Fifth Step by David Ireland on Tues., Dec. 9, at 7:00 p.m. Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk) and Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, The Responder) star in David Ireland’s darkly funny new play about trust, confession, and recovery. As a sponsor and his mentee form a fragile bond through Alcoholics Anonymous, buried truths threaten to unravel their connection.

The Nutcracker, and Clara’s Family Tea Party

Fairfield University’s Quick Center presents Clara’s Family Tea Party on Sun., Dec. 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Dolan School of Business Event Hall. Add extra sparkle to your Nutcracker experience with festive treats, photo opportunities with costumed dancers, and a holiday cookie-making table for young guests. Enjoy classic tea sandwiches, seasonal sweets, and a special cocktail for adults in a joyful, family- friendly atmosphere. The perfect companion to Connecticut Dance School’s Nutcracker performances, Clara’s Family Tea Party is a cherished holiday tradition in Fairfield County.

Andrea Chénier: The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD

The Met: Live in HD presents Giordano’s Andrea Chénier on Mon., Dec. 15, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Quick Center. Tenor Piotr Beczała stars as the idealistic poet ensnared in the turmoil of the French Revolution, alongside soprano Sonya Yoncheva as his beloved Maddalena and baritone Igor Golovatenko as Gérard, whose betrayal seals their fate. Conducted by Daniele Rustioni, this powerful production captures the sweeping passion and tragedy of Giordano’s masterpiece. A free pre-screening talk with Michael Ciavaglia, PhD, begins at noon.

It's a Wonderful Life by Frank Capra, on the Big Screen

Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life (1946), starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, returns to the Quick Center for a screening on Sat., Dec. 20, 2025, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. A beloved holiday tradition, this timeless classic celebrates hope, resilience, and the power of community, reminding us how one life can make a lasting difference. A perfect way to share the spirit of the season with family and friends.
