FAIRFIELD, Conn. (July 30, 2019)—Fairfield University has been awarded two grants totaling $75,000 from the Bank of America Foundation, for continued support of key programs and initiatives in the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, and for programming at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.
 
The two grants represent a strong collaboration for both the University and Bank of America. Through the ongoing partnership, Bank of America will partner with the Dolan School and College of Arts and Sciences providing student mentorship opportunities, and with the Quick Center on introducing a new Open Visions Forum “Women and Leadership” programming series. The University will divide the grant funding among new and continuing educational and professional development programming within key areas.

Funds given to the Quick Center, totaling $50,000, will be allocated to an Open VISIONS Forum Women and Leadership Series at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, presented by Bank of America. This inspirational speaker series celebrates empowering women leaders around the world. These lectures provide the Bank of America community and Quick Center patrons the chance to listen and engage with thought-provoking female speakers who will offer their perspectives on issues and topics at the forefront of society.

Part of this year’s series are Samantha Power, the youngest-ever U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (Wednesday, October 2), and Lynsey Addario, a National Geographic and New York Times photojournalist (Monday, December 9).

The $25,000 grant allocated to Fairfield Dolan will be used to support: the School of Business’s Professional Development Series, which provides a series of workshops, lectures, and experiences to help prepare Fairfield business students for careers; its Women Scholars Program, which awards scholarships to qualified female master’s degree candidates based on academic merit; and its Women in Quant Interdisciplinary Mentoring Series, which helps provide practical skills for women entering quantitative fields, in order to leverage their value and skills and to negotiate their net worth.
