FAIRFIELD, Conn. (August 15, 2019) — Fairfield University has once again been ranked in Money Magazine’s annual list of ‘Best Colleges for Your Money.’ Placing in the list’s top 75 out of 476 private colleges (No. 62) included in the ranking, Fairfield falls in the top 13% of private colleges and universities nationwide. Additionally, the University was ranked No. 139 of 744 schools included in the list, placing it in the top 20% nationally.

Cited as a “Jesuit school that stands out for its comparatively high graduation rate (81%),” Fairfield’s distinction on Money’s 2019 list comes from a combined ranking of not only its notable graduation rate, but also its financial aid offerings, average student debt ($27,000), and average salary within three years of graduation ($59,600).

Money’s Best Colleges for Your Money rankings “combine the most accurate pricing estimates available with indicators of alumni financial success, along with a unique analysis of how much value a college adds when compared to other schools that take in similar students.”

The analyses focused on three factors Money found to be the most important to parents and students: quality of education, which considers its graduation rates, instructor quality, and student quality; affordability, which considers the net price of a degree, average student debt upon graduation, and the ability to repay debt; and outcomes, which considers graduates’ earnings, graduates’ earnings by major, and earnings 10 years after college entry.

Fairfield also received placement on Money’s list of Most Transformative Colleges for 2019, which weighs students’ success as compared to their academic and economic background.
