What : This lecture, Rainmaking Through Networking, is designed to start participants on the path to becoming "black belt networkers." Most business classes focus on building skills such as sales, finance, accounting, leadership, etc., however, to be successful in business the skill of networking is overlooked. Without formal networking training, people are not as successful as they could be in business.

Who : Scott C. Nevins is a principal and senior investment advisor in Bernstein Private Wealth Management's Connecticut practice. Mr. Nevins' clients include high-net-worth individuals, family offices, non-profits, endowments and foundations. Working with his team of Bernstein professionals, Mr. Nevins specialties include multigenerational wealth planning, philanthropic planning, investment solutions for corporate executives and planning for selling a business and retirement planning. Prior to joining Bernstein, Mr. Nevins was a successful entrepreneur having built and managed seven early to mid-stage venture capital backed technology and financial service companies. Mr. Nevins began his career at GE Capital. He has extensive knowledge in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and private financing. He is the recipient of Ernst & Young's “Entrepreneur of the Year” and Deloitte & Touche's Fast 50 Awards.
Mr. Nevins serves on several non-profit boards including AIF, ACG, World Affairs Forum and CT Venture Group. In addition, Mr. Nevins is very active in the Angel Investor and Venture Capital communities.
