Verdi’s Beloved Opera, Il Trovatore, to open the Quick Center’s popular series, The Met: Live in HD

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (September 15, 2015) — The Metropolitan Opera will offer two live HD broadcasts of Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 1 & 6 p.m.

The Met: Live in HD season begins with the Verdi classic, first performed at the Met in 1883. Soprano, Anna Netrebko, is brilliant in her highly anticipated Met role debut as Leonora, the tortured heroine of Il Trovatore . Dmitri Hvorostovsky sings “Count di Luna” in the first pairing of the two Russian superstars at the Met since 2002, with Yonghoon Lee as Manrico, the title character, Štefan Kocán as Ferrando, and Dolora Zajick in her signature role of the demented gypsy Azucena. The opera is produced by Sir David McVicar
