Nationally renowned trio to perform at Fairfield University

In honor of the Quick Center's 25 th Season Anniversary, a new work, Connecticut-based composer Gwyneth Walker will premiere Mornings of Creation during a concert performed by the Connecticut Trio at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Sunday, September 27, at 3 p.m. The afternoon will include Haydn’s Piano Trio in C Major , Arensky's Trio in D Minor and music by Piazzolla.

Composer Gwyneth Walker has written more than 300 compositions for orchestra, chamber ensembles, chorus, solo voice and individual instruments. She has performed nationwide at Carnegie Hall, The Washington National Cathedral and on The Ellen DeGeneres Show . Walker's choral work Songs to the Lord of Peace , commissioned by the Center for Catholic Studies at Fairfield University, premiered in 2007 and was performed by the Fairfield University Glee Club in celebration of their 60th anniversary season.

Having first performed together more than 20 years ago in a recital at Carnegie Recital Hall, The Connecticut Trio features pianist Linda Laurent, violinist Gerard Rosa and cellist Julie Ribchinsky. With international and national recognition, The Connecticut Trio frequently performs locally at Central Connecticut State University, where they are professors of music, and at the New Britain Museum of American Art.
