Wagner's Masterpiece, Tannhäuser is next in the Quick Center's opera series, The Met: Live in HD

The Met: Live in HD season continues at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 12 p.m. (encore) and 6 p.m. (encore) with Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser produced by Otto Schenk.

Wagner's early dramatic masterpiece, Tannhäuser returns to the Met stage after almost a decade. Johan Botha, leading Wagnerian tenor, sings his first company performances of the demanding title role. The cast also includes Peter Mattei as Wolfram, his second Met Wagner role; Günther Groissböck as the Landgraf; and Eva-Maria Westbroek as Elisabeth and Michelle DeYoung as Venus, the human and divine rivals for Tannhäuser’s affection.
