Fairfield University will celebrate LGBTQ History Month (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning) with a film series, art history lecture and more now through November 1. All events are free and open to the public.

The following are some of the month's highlights.

• Keynote Speech, "Art After Stonewall," 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J. Center Presentation Room. Jonathan Weinberg is a painter, art historian and curator who teaches at Yale School of Art and Rhode Island School of Design. He is the author of "Male Desire: The Homoerotic in American Art," "Ambition and Love in American Art," and "Speaking for Vice: Homosexuality in the Art of Charles Demuth, Marsden Hartley and the First American Avant-Garde." In 2010, he curated "Lost and Found: The Lesbian and Gay Presence in the Archives of American Art," and in 2011, with Barbara Buhler Lynes, "Shared Intelligence: American Painting and the Photograph" at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
• A film series featuring: "Rent," 5 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 70 McCormick Road, First Floor Commons; "Pariah," 5 p.m., Friday, October 17, DiMenna-Nyselius Library Multimedia Room; "Christopher and His Kind," 5 p.m., Friday, October 24, DiMenna-Nyselius Library Multimedia Room; and "Rocky Horror Picture Show," 10 p.m., Saturday, November 1, Gonzaga Auditorium.
• A dinner and discussion of gender neutral bathrooms. This event is part of the Service for Justice Dinner Series and will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, at 70 McCormick Road, First Floor Commons.

All LGBTQ History Month events are sponsored by Student Diversity Programs, Fairfield Alliance, Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies and Service for Justice Residential College.
