Five Little Monkeys stars five silly simian siblings who insist on doing things their own way - with zany results. Whether it's baking a surprise birthday cake, jumping on beds, going shopping for clothes, having a picnic, or climbing a tree, each of the monkeys displays a unique style while driving Mama monkey bonkers. Based on the rhyming children's books by Eileen Christelow and adapted for the stage by Ernie Nolan, Five Little Monkeys had its world premiere at Adventure Theatre MTCin 2012.Michael J. Bobbitt, Producing Artistic Director at Adventure Theatre, says of the production, "Whenever I mentioned this book to children, they immediately recognize the title and complete the rhyme, which attests to Christelow's talent as a children's book author."

The Washington Post writes: This good-humored, rough-and-tumble show, with plenty of antics on the monkey bars and lots of monkey-style 'hoo-hoo-hoo' vocalizations, is a fine way to spend an hour with little ones." The DC Metro Theater Arts review calls it an "energy-packed hour of mischief and mayhem," adding, "The children at my performance really enjoyed themselves, and happy kids make happy parents."

Many of Eileen Christelow's books, including "Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree," have been named Children's Choice Books of the Year by the Children's Book Council and the International Reading Association. Playwright Ernie Nolan is a nationally and internationally recognized playwright dedicated to new works and re-imagining classic stories for young audiences.
