Fairfield University faculty published in the Journal of Catholic Higher Education

Image: Journal of Catholic Higher Education The Journal of Catholic Higher Education (JCHE) published articles by Fairfield University faculty members in an issue that had a special focus on Catholic higher education and nursing. The volume examined ways that mission, identity, and the work of peace and justice are implemented in programs and schools of nursing at Catholic universities.

The Journal of Catholic Higher Education, the peer-reviewed, semiannual journal of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, is the only international journal dedicated to the distribution of scholarly work and commentary with a focus on contemporary Catholic higher education in the United States and around the world.

The articles are:

"Integrative Nursing and Health Sciences Initiatives for the 21st Century: Vision and Pedagogy at One Jesuit University," by Suzanne Hetzel Campbell, former dean of the School of Nursing; Robbin D. Crabtree, dean of the College of Arts & Sciences; and Colonel Patrick W. Kelley, director, Board on Global Health for the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academies. He graduated from Fairfield in 1976 with a major in biology.

'Service-Learning Initiatives in Nursing Education,' by Eileen O'Shea, associate professor of nursing; Jessica Planas, assistant professor of nursing; Melissa Quan, associate director of the Center for Faith and Public Life and director of the Office of Service Learning; Lydia Greiner, assistant professor of nursing; Meredith Kazer, associate dean, graduate program director, and professor of nursing; and Lynn Babington, professor and dean of the School of Nursing.
