Panel discussion to feature financial experts offering vital advice for planning your new business

This Monday, November 24, 2014, at 7 p.m., Fairfield University will host a panel discussion featuring prominent financial experts telling inventors and entrepreneurs what they need to know in the new year. Entitled, “Economic Winds of 2015 and Implications to Inventors & Entrepreneurs,” the event is free and open to the public. It will take place in the DiMenna-Nyselius Library, Room 101.

“The discussion will focus on projected financial conditions which couldhave a bearing on and implications for independent inventors andentrepreneurs seeking funding for their inventions and start-ups,” said Douglas Lyon, Ph.D., professor of computer engineering at Fairfield and president of the Inventors Association of Connecticut (IACT). “Each individual brings a unique perspective to the discussion due to backgrounds and experience within venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, banking and government funding positions.”

Moderated by Entrepreneurship Foundation President Mike Roer, former executive director of the Connecticut Venture Group, the panel will feature Douglas Campbell III, angel investor and chief executive officer of Darien, Conn.-based ‘Success Coach;’ Chris Penner, director, Investments, Connecticut Innovations, Inc.; Kevin A. Toohill, vice president, Investments, UBS Financial Services, Inc.; and Michael Carter, founding principal, Carter Morse & Mathias.
