Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones, Katrina Van Tassel, and the Headless Horseman bring to life Washington Irving's classic story in this autumnal event that's not to be missed. Audience members are invited to come in costume, arrive early, and participate in the Quick Center's annual Halloween costume contest! Recommended for ages 5-10. Media sponsor is Morris Media. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for children.

Based on the original story by Washington Irving, with book, music, and lyrics by Paul Deiss, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow tells the story of Tarry Town, a place where strange things happen and the townsfolk seem entranced by spirits. Ichabod Crane, a well-educated teacher who comes to live in Tarry Town, meets a mysterious fate. Legend has it that he is the victim of the dreaded 'headless horseman' who allegedly haunts Sleepy Hollow. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is faithful to Washington Irving's original story, written in 1819, and is designed to thrill and perhaps chill (although it's not too scary) young audiences. No fall season is complete without the telling of this autumnal classic.

Theatre IV, a division of the Virginia Repertory Theatre, is a nonprofit, professional touring children's theatre. This performance is part of its national touring production. Since 1975, it has toured from Wisconsin to Florida and from Texas to Maine. Theatre IV performs live before over 1/2 million children, teens, parents and teachers across the United States every year.
