Quick Center for the Arts partners with National Theatre Live to present an exclusive area broadcast in High Definition of William Shakespeare's "Macbeth," starring Kenneth Branagh as Macbeth and Alex Kingston as Lady Macbeth. Broadcasts take place at 2 p.m. (encore), and 7 p.m. (encore), on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts. Tickets are $25, $20 seniors, $15 students/children.

This electrifying production of "Macbeth," Shakespeare's tragic tale of ambition and treachery, was filmed earlier this year, as part of a critically acclaimed sold-out presentation at England's Manchester International Festival. It marks Kenneth Branagh's first Shakespeare performance in over a decade, as Macbeth, and Alex Kingston ("Doctor Who," "ER") as Lady Macbeth, in her first stage role in many years, and is directed by Olivier and Tony Award-winning director Rob Ashford and Branagh. The Daily Telegraph called it "A 'Macbeth ' which will go down as one of the Scottish Play's great revivals," and The Financial Times said it was "a truly immersive experience." Writer, director and actor Kenneth Branagh is one of today's great Shakespearean interpreters. He is known for his work in stage, film and television, and is the only man to be nominated in five different categories for an Academy Award. In the summer of 2014, Branagh will be performing "Macbeth," live, in person, at the Park Avenue Armory Drill Hall in New York City.
