Officials at Fairfield University and the Town of Fairfield have announced an initiative to provide Town employees a tuition discount, as part of the University's ongoing commitment to serve the regional community.
The initiative provides a 10% discount off the tuition rate of any undergraduate or graduate academic program, full or part time, whether the employee is seeking a degree or taking individual courses, for credit or auditing a course for enrichment. The discount applies to any active full or part-time employee (at least 50% employment) of the Town of Fairfield. The agreement between the University and the Town was effective January 1, 2013, and is for three years, until December 31, 2015.
Rev. Paul Fitzgerald, S.J., Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fairfield, said, "At Fairfield University we seek to be an educational and cultural resource for our neighbors, and we are always pleased to welcome them to campus. We are especially eager to offer educational opportunities to the employees who serve the community we call home."
Town of Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau said, "The Town is pleased to partner with one of Fairfield's key institutions. We look forward to utilizing the University's wealth of resources to help benefit our workforce and our community."
Town employees who are interested in the program should contact the Town of Fairfield Human Resources Office and visit www.fairfield.edu/towndiscount .
