Quick Center for the Arts presents two high-definition broadcasts of The National Theatre of London's production of "People," Alan Bennett's hilarious new play, in National Theatre Live in HD presentations at 3 p.m. (live) and 7 p.m. (encore) on Thursday, March 21, 2013 . Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors, $15 children, students, and faculty .

"People" features the acclaimed star of stage and screen, Frances de la Tour , whose live theatre performances have earned her three Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award, and whose film credits include "The Book of Eli," "Hugo," and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1." Alan Bennett is one of Britain's most celebrated comic playwrights. The much-anticipated "People" is his sixth play to be premiered at the National Theatre. Nicholas Hytner directs, in a play about an aristocratic ex-model named Dorothy (Frances de la Tour), who lives in her mouldering mansion with her companion, Iris, played by Linda Bassett. Dorothy shrinks from the idea of it being opened to the public gaze. She is even tempted by an offer from an appraiser to transport the whole house to Dorset or Wiltshire. Meanwhile, Dorothy's sister, June, played by Selina Cadell, is close to doing a deal with the National Trust which will both make the house a piece of English history and fill it with racily interactive features. "People" has been called "outrageously funny and provocative" by The Independent News, "wonderfully funny," by The Times, and "entertaining, and surprisingly touching" by The Daily Telegraph.

Now in its fourth season, National Theatre Live in HD continues to deliver performances of some of the best of British theater to theatres around the world. Stage performances are captured live in front of an audience at London's National Theatre and its collaborating companies. The shows are then broadcast (live and time-delayed) in high definition across Europe and America.
