Fire and police chiefs scheduled to speak at free public event

Should disaster strike, is the Town of Fairfield ready? That's the always-timely subject of an April 11 breakfast ethics discussion cosponsored by Fairfield University's Program in Applied Ethics and The Rotary Club of Fairfield. Fairfield Fire Chief Richard Felner, Police Chief Gary MacNamara and Colleen Arendt, Ph.D., assistant professor of communication at Fairfield University, are the panelists for this event, which is free and open to the public.

"What If? Fairfield's Emergency Preparedness" begins with coffee and a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Fairfield University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road. The hour-long program will begin at 7:45 a.m. Seating is limited. If you plan to attend, contact David P. This is the second ethics discussion in a series that began in January with a well-attended kickoff breakfast. "Ethics is on everyone's mind today," said Dr. Schmidt, a faculty member in the University's Dolan School of Business. "This series of public discussions is a new opportunity for people to share their questions and ideas about vital issues that face us all."

The Rotary Club is pleased to be a partner in the breakfast series, said President Paul Greatsinger.

"For over 70 years, Fairfield Rotary has served the needs of our town and the surrounding region," he said. "We are a volunteer organization of professional and business leaders who act on the principle of 'Service Above Self.' Partnering with the University's Applied Ethics Program is a welcome opportunity to better serve our community."
