Fairfield University to march in 2012 New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade

Image: Fairfield University flag Fairfield University will have a contingent marching in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, taking place Saturday, March 17 in Manhattan. Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends of Fairfield are encouraged to join the marchers. To register, please visit www.fairfield.edu/stpatsparade .

"Everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day and everyone is welcome," said Fairfield University President Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx, S.J. "We are very pleased to be part of the largest parade in the world, and one of New York City's greatest traditions."

Those interested in marching are invited to a pre-Parade buffet brunch/lunch at Park Avenue Tavern, 99 Park Avenue (corner of Park and 39th Street), from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Fairfield contingent will then line-up and march at 3:20 p.m., gathering on East 48th Street, between Madison and Park Avenues, before then. All Fairfield participants will be provided with Fairfield sashes for marching. The dress code is comfortable business attire.
