What:
Braids are hot this year, on the red carpet as well as side streets everywhere. The inspiration of this latest hairstyling phenomenon dates back to classical Athens, evidence of which may be found in the south porch of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Dr. Schwab teamed up with a professional hair stylist and six Fairfield University students to see if these beautiful Caryatid hairstyles could be replicated. The resulting work was filmed and a short video developed. Visit the website .

The project has received coverage in Greek publications, and ARTnews Magazine. Dr. Schwab has given presentations and screenings on the project for a variety of audiences including the Greek Embassy in Washington, D.C., Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, and most recently at the Acropolis Museum in Athens, where five of the original Caryatids are on display.

When and Where:
Tuesday, September 13, 6 p.m., The World Bar, Trump World Tower, 845 United Nations Plaza, New York City
