Fairfield University professor offers two skills workshops in April


Leadership styles April 1st and presentation skills April 21st

Image: Paul Maloney Fairfield University professor Paul Maloney of the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions will offer two April workshops for members of the community that teach important business skills. On Friday, April 1st, Maloney tackles leadership styles and on Thursday, April 21, he will focus on effective presentation skills. Both workshops run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be held at Alumni House. Space is limited and reservations for the April 1st workshop are required by Tuesday, March 29; registration deadline for the presentation skills workshop is Monday, April 18. The April 1st leadership styles workshop is designed to help participants develop leadership skills that will enable them to deal effectively with changing situations using different styles. Through case studies, discussion, and role-play, participants will learn to:

Maloney's April 21st workshop on effective presentation skills uses proven tools to plan, organize and deliver presentations with commitment, engage their audience, and deal with difficult people and questions confidently.

The intensive program uses case discussions, practice exercises, feedback, self-assessment and action planning to develop these crucial skills.

The workshop will help participants:

Maloney is an assistant professor of the practice, applied psychology. His career includes senior management and development positions at NBC, Mobil Oil Corporation and PepsiCo International and he has consulted worldwide for American Airlines, GE, Schering-Plough, Kodak, Chrysler Capital, Artisan Software, Nielsen Media Research, and many other organizations. His specialties include change management, leadership, executive feedback and coaching, and presentation skills. He served as a lieutenant in the navy and later earned his doctorate from the University of Virginia.
