Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts ' 2011-2012 Music Series has something for everyone, from Miles to Mozart, to bluegrass and Beethoven. Divided into three categories - Jazz, Sweet Sounds, and Classic Impressions - the Music Series will bring in international stars, chart-topping recording artists, Grammy-winning performers, and world class ensembles providing an extraordinary array of talents and sounds for Quick Center audiences.

Image: Sandip Burman The Music Season opens with Sandip Burman , an accomplished tabla artist and ambassador for Indian classical music, performing at 5 p.m., on Sunday, September 18, 2011 , in the Wien Experimental Theatre. Burman's unyielding dedication and enthusiasm have enabled him to grow musically beyond tabla playing and into tabla tarang, sitar, and voice. Tickets are $20.

The Jazz Series kicks off on the Quick Center's Kelley Theatre stage at 8 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2011 , when the Luciana Souza Trio featuring Romero Lubambo and Cyro Baptista perform. Grammy winner Luciana Souza is one of jazz's leading singers and interpreters. Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, she grew up in a family of bossa nova innovators. She brings with her a pair of world-class musicians, guitarist Romero Lubambo and percussionist Cyro Baptista. Tickets are $40, $35, and $30.

Image: Miles Davis The seminal sounds of jazz legend Miles Davis are reprised at 8 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2011, when The Miles Davis Experience: 1949-1959; A Collaboration with Blue Note Records , takes the stage. The show, featuring trumpeter Jason Palmer, outlines the challenges and optimism of the Civil Rights struggle against the backdrop of the creative cauldron of music that Miles pioneered. Tickets are $40, $35, and $30.

The Quick Center's Sweet Sounds series is just that. Fast-rising star in the bluegrass world, the mandolinist and singer-songwriter Sierra Hull and Highway 111 perform at 8 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2011 . Hull is a young artist who brings style, grace, clarity and heartfelt spontaneity to her performances. Opening the show will be The String Fingers Band, a Fairfield County-based bluegrass band that includes Dan Carlucci, a graduate of Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University. Tickets are $25.

Expect more Sweet Sounds and songs ranging from hip-hop dance tracks to rock anthems when Six13: A Night of Pop-Rock Jewish a cappella takes place at 8 p.m., on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Fueled by a strong, Jewish identity and anchored by thumping beat box, intricate arrangements, and soulful harmonies, Six13 is a six-man band that specializes in an unprecedented style of Jewish music. The concert is presented by The Carl and Dorothy Bennett Center in honor of Daniel Pearl Music Days. Free.

Sweet Sounds come by way of Scotland at 8 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011 with a performance by Julie Fowlis: Music of the Scottish Isles. Awarded Gaelic Singer of the Year & Album of the Year honors at the Scots Traditional Music Awards in 2007, Julie Fowlis is a passionate torchbearer for the culture of her native Western Isles, and celebrates the music of the Outer Hebrides and Highlands of Scotland with a show that's emotive, expressive and exuberant. Tickets are $40, $35, and $30.

On the classical side of the stage, the Quick Center's Classic Impressions series opens at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 , with Quartetto Cornetto, Orin Grossman, Artistic Director . Orin Grossman, Fairfield University's professor of music and concert pianist, and friends, take to the stage with Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale," an adapted version for violin, clarinet, and piano. Tickets are $35.

Classic Impressions continue at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2011, with the highly anticipated appearance of the Ahn Trio . Born in Seoul, Korea and educated at the Juilliard School in New York City, the Ahn sisters - cellist Maria, pianist Lucia, and violinist Angella - are constantly redefining the art and architecture of chamber music. Breathing new life into the standard piano-trio literature, the Ahn Trio brings vibrant energy and excitement to the chamber music world. Tickets are $35.
