The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University invites visitors to come curious and leave inspired as it announces its 2011-1012 Arts & Minds "Dance" performance season. "Dance" stars will come to the Quick Center stage from all over the world with styles ranging from ballroom to Flamenco, modern to classical ballet. Subscription discounts are available, with Quick Center for the Arts subscribers saving 20% on special "Dance America" three-performance subscription prices. Further discounts are available through the flexible Pick 4 or More plan.

The 2011-2012 Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts' Dance season begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 , with "Ballroom! 'We are the Champions!'" Ballroom Dancesport Extravaganza features six couples - all world and American ballroom champions - performing in spectacular showcase presentations. The cast includes one of the world's most renowned Argentine Tango couples, plus 13-year-old sensations Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski who wowed audiences on America's Got Talent , and So You Think You Can Dance star Iveta Lukosiute. Free, pre-performance ballroom dance lessons take place at 7 p.m. Audience members are invited to a "Meet the Stars" reception following the performance. Single tickets are $40, $35, and $30.

Compañia Flamenca - José Porcel , with José Porcel, Artistic Director, brings "Gypsy Fire" to the stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 . Flamenco is an explosion of rhythms, colors, and emotions that contains all of the vitality, sunniness, and passion of the Spanish people. The Compañia Flamenca José Porcel, founded in Madrid, Spain, is among the premier dance troupes that exhibits this exciting art form. The company is back in the United States touring its thrilling new program, "Gypsy Fire." Single tickets are $40, $35, and $30.

Philadanco! The Philadelphia Dance Company performs at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 . Joan Myers Brown and her 17 dancers are famed for innovative choreography, blending African-American influenced dance with ballet, jazz, and modern. "Philadanco's dancers are a miracle of skill and energy. They work in a range of idioms most companies don't even try to possess," raves Dance Magazine . Single tickets are $45, 40, $35. A special school performance of this program will take place on Friday, January 20, 2012. Educators should call for details.

The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 when legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Sergei Radchenko, realized his vision of combining the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies.
