Auditions for Fairfield University's Fifteenth Anniversary Annual Summer Festival Chorus (SFC) will be held on Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. at the Quick Center for the Arts. By May 21, all would-be participants, even returning ones , must complete the registration form - accessible for download at http://www.fairfield.edu/quick - and return it to the Quick Center Box Office by fax or regular mail.

Carole Ann Maxwell, D.S.M., conductor of the SFC, invites experienced choral singers to audition. She asks that auditioners be prepared to sing vocal warm-ups and exercises. Previous participants need not audition.

Rehearsals for the SFC are Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 17 through July 24 from 7:30-10:00 p.m. at the Quick Center's Kelley Theatre, an air-conditioned hall with perfect acoustics. The gala fifteenth anniversary concert featuring members of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Brass and Percussion takes place on Saturday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Quick Center for the Arts.

The focus of this year's repertoire is on the music of American composers: pop, Broadway and spirituals and is titled "Americanarama." Featured works include: Randol Alan Bass' "Gloria," Paul Halley's "Wondrous Love" and an array of American spirituals, Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway tunes and more.

Dr. Maxwell is a vibrant conductor and the rehearsal atmosphere she creates is exhilarating. She describes the experience with characteristic enthusiasm, "We all work very hard and sharing that experience creates a strong bond in rehearsal that blossoms in the excitement of performance. And, this year is a milestone as it is our fifteenth anniversary!"
