Leahy and The Quick Center for the Arts issue a "Call to Dancers" for the chance to perform an Irish dance | Press Releases

When the Canadian recording artists Leahy arrive at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts on Sunday, March 16 to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with their rousing music and energetic dancing, they will share the stage with one lucky local traditional Irish dancer.

This internationally acclaimed powerhouse of eight musical brothers and sisters is calling out to all young dancers in the Fairfield area for a chance to win the unique opportunity to join them onstage during their show at the Quick Center for the Arts. The evening begins with a pre-show St. Patrick's Day celebration at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.

The deserving dancer will dance with the band during their award-winning song, "The Call to Dance." In addition, the dancer will receive four tickets to the show and Leahy's new Live CD and DVD.

Young people who have any level of experience in any "traditional" style of dance such as clog, Irish, Highland, step-dancing or tap, are invited to enter this exciting contest.

Dancers should submit a short paragraph of no more than 100 words explaining why they should be "called to dance." Entries should be sent via email to the Quick Center at info@quickcenter.com ; please enter "Leahy Dance Contest" in the subject line. Deadline for submissions is noon on Friday, Feb. 29.

The winning entry will be selected on Monday, March 3 and will be notified by Leahy. Information regarding guidelines for the contest will be posted on the Quick Center website for the month of February at www.quickcenter.com. The winner's name will also appear on the Quick Center website.
