Young Audiences

Missoula Children's Theatre Company returns for the Quick Center for the Arts Summer Theatre program 2008 with weekly shows presented as the culmination of an intense week of work with a different group of participating children each week. The schedule follows:

This exhibition features Paintings on paper by Tom Weaver, Chair, Department of Art at Hunter College. Weaver's range of painterly means encodes subtle contradictions in his works, which combine the "immediacy of touch" of "pointillist" drawing, glazing technique, blending, scumbling and dripping with "mechanized" devices or repetition, found wood blocks and decorative-pattern rollers. These combination assemblage images are not seamless but rather assert and question their own authority. The artist communicates states of introspection, absorption, isolation, reverie and loss of control. Curated by Jo Yarrington, Chair, Studio Art Department, Fairfield University. Admission is free.
