Popular children's "Frog and Toad" stories now a Broadway hit-musical at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts November 4

Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts continues its Young Audience Sunday Series with three-time-Tony-nominated musical, "A Year With Frog and Toad," based on Arnold Lobel's beloved characters. Children of all ages will enjoy this hour long Broadway hit at the Quick Center, Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Developed by Mr. Lobel's daughter, Adrianne Lobel, who is the original designer for the Broadway as well as the touring productions, the musical remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special.

"A Year With Frog and Toad" has music, book and lyrics by Robert Reale and Willie Reale and is based on the books by Arnold Lobel. It was originally presented on Broadway by Bob Boyett, Adrianne Lobel, Michael Gardner, Lawrence Horowitz and Roy Furman. The World Premiere took place at The Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minn. The show was honored by a Tony nomination for Best Musical and it was lauded as "A delightful family musical" by www.talkinbroadway.com. "A Year With Frog and Toad" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, New York, NY.
