Fairfield alumnus named Web Communications Director

Scott Barnett Scott Barnett, an alumnus of Fairfield's Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions, has been named to the newly created position of Director of Web Communications in the new Division of Marketing and Communications.

Barnett, a resident of Milford, will report directly to Vice President Rama Sudhakar and direct staff of the Web Communications Office. He has over 15 years experience in media and information systems, coming to Fairfield from Ryan iDirect where he was an Interactive Producer and Project Manager for the development of robust consumer product websites. Barnett is the former Associate Director of Academic Computing at Sarah Lawrence College and was assistant professor and e-Media Program Director for the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University. During his tenure there he also chaired the Faculty Senate Technology Committee. He is a former Advisory Board Member for Connecticut Public Television & Radio and a current member of the Library Board in the City of Milford.

Barnett received his B.S. in television production from Syracuse University, an M.A. in Educational Technology and Instruction Development from Fairfield, and an M.S. in Computer Information Systems from Quinnipiac.

Commenting on Barnett's appointment, Sudhakar said, "Scott is a welcome addition to the new division and comes with a wealth of talent, academic credentials, and experience. I am confident he is the ideal person to lead our efforts to achieve our strategic and creative goals of web and interactive media communications."
