Fourth Congressional District debate at Fairfield University

Fourth Congressional District debate at Fairfield University

Fourth Congressional District candidates will have the opportunity to hear what's on the minds of their younger constituents at a debate sponsored by Fairfield University on Monday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m., in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The debate is open to the public with seating on a first-come basis.

Posing questions to Republican Congressman Christopher Shays, Democratic Candidate Diane Farrell, Libertarian Party Candidate Philip Maymin, and Green Party Candidate Richard Duffee will be six student groups: Young Democrats, College Republicans, WVOF Radio, Ham TV Channel, The Mirror newspaper, and the Debate Team. Some time is being allotted for audience members to ask questions as well.

Fairfield University is one of only two sites that will host all four candidates for the Fourth Congressional seat and the only one to feature college students questioning the candidates.

The debate is being presented by the Open VISIONS Forum of University College at Fairfield and the Fairfield University Student Association.
