Summer Festival Chorus holds auditions at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts

The popular Summer Festival Chorus of Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts will hold auditions for its 2005 program, "Summer Romance," on Tuesday, June 7, at 7 p.m. in the Quick Center's Kelley Auditorium. The chorus, now in its 12th year, will present a final concert on Saturday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m.

Experienced choral singers are invited to audition and should be prepared to sing vocal warm-ups and exercises. Auditions are not required for previous participants. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from Tuesday, June 21, through Thursday, July 28.

The delightful program for the 2005 concert, a celebration of romance, will include compositions by John Lennon, Daniel Pinkham and Johannes Brahms, as well as Broadway greats Leonard Bernstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Dr. Carole Ann Maxwell, director of Choral and Liturgical Music at Fairfield University, is the musical director of the Summer Festival Chorus. Maxwell is also the artistic director and conductor of The Mendelssohn Choir of Connecticut and a chorus master for the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra.
