Ethiopian dignitaries to attend Walsh Art Gallery opening of "Ethiopia: Religious Pageantry and Tribal Traditions" exhibit

Walsh Art Gallery at Fairfield University will host an opening reception on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. for the exhibit "Ethiopia: Religious Pageantry and Tribal Traditions." A collection of stunning photos depicting the daily life and customs by Westport photographer Barbara Paul, the exhibit will be on display from Jan. 27, through Sunday, March 20, at the Walsh Art Gallery, which is located in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

His Excellency Ambassador Teruneh Zenna, Permanent Representative for the Mission of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations, and Mr. Mesfin Endrias, Counselor and Acting Head of Diplomacy for the Embassy of The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, will both attend the opening. Mr. Endrias will attend on behalf of His Excellency Kassahun Ayele, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States. Mr. Peter Tse, Director of Ethiopian Airlines, will also attend the event. The reception is free and open to the public.

"I want to thank Fairfield University for giving me the opportunity to share with our community the warmth and the spirit of the beautiful and diverse Ethiopian people through these photographs," Paul said.
