Image: Superfudge Life is never dull in the Hatcher household, especially when the rambunctious four-year-old Fudge (a.k.a. Superfudge, a.k.a. Farley Drexel) is around. "Superfudge," a fun-filled musical based on Judy Blume's best-selling book about the Hatcher family, will be presented Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The Theatreworks/USA-staged show, appropriate for children in grades K-6, will be repeated Monday, April 22 at 10 a.m. as part of the Quick Center's Arts Bound Schoolday Series.

To 11-year-old Peter Hatcher, it seems his wacky little brother is always stumbling into some sort of embarrassing trouble. Then, just when he thought things couldn't get worse, Peter's parents announce some major changes: a new baby is on the way and the family is relocating from New York City to Princeton, N.J. Though overwhelmed, Peter manages to adjust to his new school and make new friends. He discovers that what started out as a year full of disasters turns out to be a year full of new adventures. To Peter's surprise, he no longer wants his little brother to disappear!

Michael Slade, David Evans and Faye Greenberg created the "Superfudge" musical for Theatreworks/USA. Founded in 1961, the company is America's foremost professional theatre for young and family audiences. Based on books like "The Great Brain," "Where's Waldo?" and "Lyle, Lyle Crocodile," Theatreworks/USA productions are imaginative, educational and entertaining. The company has received the Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel awards, as well as the William M. Dawson Award from the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children for Sunday's performances and $5 for Monday's performance. Discounts are available for groups and birthday parties. The Arts Bound outreach program is funded in part by the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield.
