Richard Keen's paintings on display at Fairfield University's Lukacs Gallery

Image: Richard Keen canvas The paintings of artist Richard Keen of Maine will be on display from Tuesday, Oct. 16, through Wed., Nov. 7, in Fairfield University's Lukacs Gallery, Loyola Hall, Room 17. In addition, Keen is creating a related installation to be exhibited concurrently in the Experimental Gallery adjacent to the Lukacs. The exhibit opens with a reception at 5:30 p.m.; a lecture follows at 6 p.m.

Keen's work involves abstract, sequential paintings, both organic and geometric in their forms. He received a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and a master's degree from the State University of New York at Albany. He has had solo exhibitions at Southern Vermont College Art Gallery, the Kirkland Fine Arts Center in Decatur and the Decatur Area Arts Council.

Gallery hours are Mondays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays through Fridays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.; and Tuesday through Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. For information call Frances Hynes, gallery director, at (203) 254-4000, ext. 2476.
