Fairfield University’s Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program is among the Top 10 in the nation, and best in Connecticut, according to College Choice's 2019 “50 Best Big Data Degrees” ranking. Also among the Top 10 are Carnegie Mellon University, Johns Hopkins University, University of California Berkeley, Villanova University, Pennsylvania State University, and Boston University.

The ranking balances cost, reputation, quality of education, and graduate success rate. Data for the rankings include information from U.S News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, and Payscale.com. Also included is data from a nationwide college freshman poll published by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA, in which students rated “academic reputation, financial offerings, overall cost of school, and graduate success rates.”

Business Analytics refers to the skills, technologies, applications, and practices for continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance, to gain insight and drive business planning by using data and statistical methods. Fairfield’s MSBA program is designed for busy professionals who want to propel their organizations forward through sound strategic decisions based on a keen understanding of data and statistical methods.

"It is imperative that our ever-changing society has professionals who can analyze the plethora of data crucial to business success," said Zhan Li, DBA, dean of the Dolan School. "Our MSBA program provides students with the modern, innovative education needed to be successful leaders in business and beyond."

The ranking from College Choice is the most recent of myriad accolades for Fairfield University. In February, Fairfield was named one of the best in the nation by The Princeton Review for return on investment, internship opportunities, and alumni networks. Additionally, Fairfield was named#1 in the Northern Region in the U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges 2019” ranking, and Forbes, Money magazine, and The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education, have also named Fairfield among the best schools in the nation.
